Our Mission

It is our goal to provide superior food at a good value to all our visitors and enhance it with the sweet southern hospitality that we grew up believing was natural in each of us.

Our Business

Our little business is the product of Big Mel's dream to leave a lasting legacy for his children.  God put each of us here for a reason and we know we touch people's hearts through food.  This is the gift we have been given and we are using it to the best of our ability.  We look forward to serving your family and friends.

Who We Are

Big Mel is our leader and the talent behind this operation.  The BBQ is all him.

Rhonda is the driving force behind him (and she has the checkbook).

Lil Mel is the oldest son and probably the first inspiration for this business. 

Dion is the middle son and was the first of the boys to really believe we could do this for a living.

Corey is the baby boy and the workhorse of this operation.

Stella is the youngest and the only girl....need we say more?  You will find her tending either the cash register or the TV at the restaurant when she is not in school.  Or you may find her breaking boards at the karate school next door - don't mess with her!

Kari and Saniya are two of our nine grandchildren.  You will see their photos on this site.  Together with our nephew Sedrick, they have provided a lot of help and inspiration.  They pass out samples and coupons, run the cash register, make sandwiches, and just make the whole setup cute.

Dot, Cora Mae, Linda & Eloise are Big Mel's sisters and they have been workin on his last nerve for a lot of years - why stop now?

Tonya is Rhonda's kid sister and everyone is lucky she survived childhood cause Rhonda wanted a baby brother!  Today she helps out at the restaurnt on her vacation time...she works for food!

The grandkids - Alysia, Kari, Keshon, Nasir, Saniya, Nakiya, Tanajia, Jr. and now Madison.  We love them so much it hurts.  It is a love you will never know until your own grandkids get here.  God help you when they do!

And lets not forget the in-laws - Cora Lee, Iva and Jewell.  They taught us what we needed to know to get to this place in the world.  God bless them!

There are lots of others out there who have helped us get started and for the most part they know we love them dearly and thank them for all they do.
